3 nights in Amsterdam

We've just returned from a 3 night break to Amsterdam. The hotel is in a great location, on the Amstel and opposite the opera house. Everything is about a 20 minute walk and having the tram stop behind the hotel is a definite plus. Check-in wasn't very efficient- we booked 2 rooms but they were on different floors, we were not given directions to our room and had to go back to reception to ask the way and were given a twin when asked for a double. This was swiftly rectified. As we had booked a superior room we expected a better view but being realistic we did not come to Amsterdam to stay in the room! We returned after a full day out to find the room had not been serviced but assumed it was an oversight - apparently not. Your rooms get serviced every 3 days to be more eco friendly. We should have been told this on check in and this meant your room was not freshened up, bins emptied or coffees etc replenished. I wasn't bothered about fresh sheets or clean towels as we are clean people but this screams cost cutting and not trying to be greener! We slept really well in a comfortable bed and breakfast was excellent- the restaurant staff were really friendly and the variety of breakfast on offer will suit everyone. Don't go with someone you don't know very well - the bathrooms give you very little privacy from noises but saying that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Eden hotel.

Fantastic stay

Great hotel , very clean , huge comfortable bed . The bathroom was ,,,,, unusual ( frosted glass walls and not much in the way of soundproofing ) , but hey that’s just our typically English sensitivities around such things . The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and were also very smartly dressed , after all , this is Amsterdam ! Location- wise , fantastic for walking distance to all major attractions and a five minute walk away from Rembrandt Square with bars, restaurants and coffee shops . Only gripe was the view, if you are expecting a canal view from a Superior room you might end up with a panoramic view of the back of another part of the building but that’s a minor thing if like us, you’re out all day . Would definitely stay again but maybe ask for a room with a view .

Lovely hotel 10/10 from us :)

this was our first time in amsterdam and couldn’t of picked a better hotel. the staff are so lovely and friendly, the hotel is spotless and the rooms are gorgeous! we stayed on the ground floor but I think having a few doors to have to use your key to get through is excellent as made me feel extra safe. the hotel has a little shop inside, bar and a restaurant also inside. hotel is fairy central - about a 15/20 walk to most of the tourist attractions however you could also get the tram which is right outside the back of the hotel. The hotel also has public toilets which is great when you’ve checked out and waiting to go to the airport. We got the tram to central station which was €3.40 each and then the train from central station to the airport which works out miles cheaper than getting a taxi. The beds in the hotel are also really comfy which is great after a busy day of walking. Big walk in shower with great shower pressure for the thick hair girls. When we are planning our next trip to amsterdam we will definitely be staying at this hotel. Thank you for a great stay :)
